Rick Santorum Stuns Romney

Religious Zealot or viable candidate?
Don’t count Rick Santorum out just yet. His three state sweep of the Republican caucuses have determined that Mitt Romney may not be the heir apparent that we would like to believe. One thing is for certain as the GOP tries to chose a nominee they feel that can take on President Obama.
Rick Santorum went through Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado like a right-wing blizzard. His tri-state victory should be a wake up call for Romney. It’s not going to be the cake walk that he [Romney] anticipated.

Iowa Caucus Results
Rick Santorum is big winner.
The fat lady has sung in Iowa! Romney was declared the winner however, it seems like Rick Santorum may be the big winner. His hard core social conservatism seemed to win over social conservatives in Iowa.
While Romney is the clear winner, the Republican base seems to still be wary of Mr. Romney. This morning on MSNBC, pundits from the New York Times stated that Mitt Romney will have trouble in the south because of his religion (Mormon). That may or may not be the case, however, he is just not seen as conservative enough to satisfy the Republican base, who are still trying to anoint anyone but him [Romney].

New Year 2012
Dick Clark should run for GOP
2011 was an interesting year indeed. 2012 promises to the very interesting year. We have presidential election in November 2012, there are many people on both sides of the political spectrum that have a lot invested in outcome of that election. The smart money says President Obama will win reelection. There are many of you. Reading this will not agree my assessment; President Obama has numerous victories in this past year that will merit his reelection.
President Obama’s most recent victory was the extension of the job tax credit. Despite of a Republican Party’s major focus is to disrupt and stonewall All President Obama’s ideas, he has prevailed. In spite of Republican opposition and obstruction, president Obama has won success on many fronts.
The killing of Osama bin Laden, the killing of Muammar Gaddaafi, stock market record single day in trading volume in the last eight years, and improving job market and economy will surely guarantee president Obama’s reelection. Granted this is something many who oppose him do not wish to hear. So let’s give credit where credit is due!

Herman Cain – Barack Obama
Raising Cain
Herman Cain, in-spite of his recent surge to the top of the Republican heep, is seen as a dark-horse (pardon the pun) candidate. Given the way the rest of the field is imploding, I wouldn’t count Mr. Cain out so fast!
Mitt Romney has held the number spot for weeks now and it’s still not enough to satisfy the GOP. They are pole-vaulting over Mr. Romney in search of a conservative messiah they feel confident who will be able to beat President Obama.

President Obama and Republicans
Pres. Barack Obama and Republicans have had a contentious relationship to say the least. In the past few weeks the American public has been inundated with the ongoing drama regarding the debt ceiling. President Obama has done everything except use bleach to gain consensus from the Republicans. It appears that they are dead set on no, no matter what President Obama does.
To understand the Republicans resistance and recalcitrance on raising the debt limit, one must go back to the first President Bush. Many Americans may recall the first president Bush and his no new taxes pledge. Mr. Bush gained infamy for his campaign slogan, “read my lips.” As history shows, it wasn’t too long after Mr. Bush was in office, he was forced to raise taxes. This was a big part of the reason why he lost favor with Americans in general, and the Republican Party in particular.

Fathers Day and African Americans
Fathers Day is here! All across America, fathers are celebrating with their families. Fathers Day is a day of reflection and recognizing that the family structure and our country is better off with fathers who are involved with their children.
The American family has changed over the last couple of generations. Notice the word used was “involved” not in the home? With over half of all marriages ending in divorce, this has changed the family dynamic. Fathers Day is still just as important as always. There are many divorced fathers in America. Many of them will celebrate Fathers Day with their children in an alternative setting. The important issue, is that they are involved with their children!

2012 Election will be Ugly
White rage and a dearth of new Republican ideas should result in a noxious and racially tinged 2012 election campaign next year.
As many a would-be prophet can attest, predicting the future is one surefire way of making yourself look ridiculous. When your prognostication goes wrong, the only ones who look sillier than you are those who believed in the forecast.
Take, for example, radio Bible thumper Harold Camping, who whipped legions of evangelical Christians into a frenzy by claiming that the rapture, in which the faithful would be literally spirited up into heaven, was going to take place last Saturday. Lo and behold, we — and he — are still here. But instead of curing Camping of being a seer, that seemingly incontrovertible piece of evidence only forced him to revise his schedule. He now says the end of the world will take place on Oct. 21, and I hope he is right.

Immigration Reform – The Time is Now!
As the presidential campaign starts to take flight, President Obama is calling for much needed immigration reform. With no clear Republican candidates who have officially thrown their hat in the ring, President Obama has a clear head start on his re-election bid.
After a very successful week in the wake of the killing of Bin Laden and Donald Trumps poll numbers imploding, President Obama’s re-election prospects look very good indeed. Obama has a decidedly strong advantage over the Republican field on this hot-button topic. He is perceived as a “friendly” and not a hostile combatant as the Republicans are.

Obama – We Got Him-Bin Laden
Article first published as Obama – ‘We Got Him!’ on Technorati.
Obama – We Got Him-Bin Laden
Bin Laden – By now you’re all intoxicated from the news of Bin Laden. All major media outlets are reporting on it [Bin Laden] ad nauseum. It seems that for the most part this a bi-partisan triumph for the Obama administration. Almost a decade later, America finally has justice for the terrible atrocities committed on September 11, 2001.
President Obama was stellar as he addressed the nation on the details of Osama’s death this past Sunday night. The irony is that Obama’s big message pre-empted Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” talk about poetic justice! Pres. Obama said he called former-president George W. Bush to advise him of bin Laden’s death.
