Don’t count Rick Santorum out just yet. His three state sweep of the Republican caucuses have determined that Mitt Romney may not be the heir apparent that we would like to believe. One thing is for certain as the GOP tries to chose a nominee they feel that can take on President Obama.
Rick Santorum went through Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado like a right-wing blizzard. His tri-state victory should be a wake up call for Romney. It’s not going to be the cake walk that he [Romney] anticipated.
Looney Tune Fan is dead.
The oppressive dictator is dead. What does this mean for the United States? He was cruel, isolationist and he loved Daffy Duck cartoons; go figure.
His immediate successor appears to be his third eldest son, Kim Jong Un. Sources say, he’s not the brightest bulb on the tree, and at 26 is very young to be taking over the reigns from his deceased father.
The Republican camp is imploding! They seem to change front runners like we change underwear. After knocking off Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry’s star is beginning to fade. In his third debate this past Friday, he failed to impress. In fact, he actually performed like a sixth grader who hadn’t done his homework; Herman Cain stole the day.
The Republicans have found themselves in a conundrum. Mitt Romney is not getting any love from the extreme right and the tea party. They do not want to promote him as the candidate who becomes the eventual nominee. The other problem, is their hard right candidates will not do well with independents and right of center voters in a primary or general election. This of course, helps Obama in winning a second term and they know it.
There is no other icon in America that evokes as much emotion and controversy as the Confederate flag. We fought a civil war over it, we fight a cultural war over it to this day. To some, it’s a symbol of heritage, to others it’s a symbol of hate.
To this day, several Southern states conspicuously show the stars and bars in their state flag. What’s puzzling is, why would you want to celebrate a war that you lost? most politicians from the south and the north as well are very reluctant to offer their opinion publicly about the Confederate flag. If this was just an innocent symbol of heritage, then why would you go mum and not discuss it publicly?
Michele Bachmann did it again! She managed to steal all the attention from the other GOP candidates. And rightly so, while most of us who are serious and sane don’t expect her to get the eventual GOP nomination, her circus of a candidacy is entertaining to say the least.
On a serious note, Michele Bachmann should scare anyone who is in their right mind. Joe Scarborough, from MS NBC’s Morning Joe didn’t hold his tongue when he gave his opinion of Michele Bachmann’s candidacy. I don’t always agree with Mr. Scarborough however, I must say, he got it right this time!
There are a lot of problems with Michele Bachmann’s candidacy. first and foremost, her loose interpretation of historical facts as well as critical issues facing the American electorate. Her cozy, romanticized and sanitary revisionism of American slavery is especially troubling. let’s not forget her husband, Marcus Bachmann and his controversial “counseling clinic.”
Michele Bachmann’s candidacy for the White House is wrong on so many different levels. She’s the head of the tea party caucus that held Congress hostage during the debt ceiling crisis. She has no shame in her game whatsoever. She was willing to allow the United States economy to go over a cliff, because of her extreme right-wing, lunatic fringe beliefs.
This past week when Congress passed raising the debt limit, it was a triumphant time for the American people. The surprise appearance by Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was a moment that both Congress and the American people needed. In her brief appearance before Congress to cast her vote in favor of raising the debt limit, she gave both houses of Congress, Democrats and Republicans alike a lesson in civility. Her strength and resolve to make the trip to Washington to cast her vote spoke volumes to all Americans. Congresswoman Giffords is a charming and humble public servant. The rest of Congress could learn a lesson from Gabrielle Giffords. Amid much rancor and acrimony, Gabrielle Giffords’ presence seemed to help calm the divide between those factions feuding over the debt limit increase.
Michele Bachmann for president? As creepy as that sounds, there may be enough misguided Americans who could help Michele Bachmann in her quest for the presidency. The media constantly makes comparisons between Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin. While both make ridiculous statements in front of open mics all across America, it’s become obvious that Michele Bachmann is the more dangerous of the two.
While president Obama and the Congress debate the issue of raising the debt ceiling, an interesting sideshow has manifested in the form of Michele Bachmann and her banner issue; which is opposing gay marriage. Michele Bachmann is the founder of the tea party house caucus. She came onto the national stage as a right-wing media darling, who appears to pander to the extreme right and the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party.
The 2012 election will be interesting. This past Monday, June 13th, the GOP show cased their potential 2012 candidates in a debate televised on CNN. After all the pomp and circumstance, it appears to be a race to the bottom. Sadly, it appears the Mormon is the only sane one in the bunch! 2012 election, interesting indeed!
Michele Bachmann – Appears to be the one that stole the show in the debate. She is the chair of the Tea Party Caucus in congress. She at least had the cojones to admit she was wrong for her historical faux pas on Concord. Contrast this to Sarah Palin, who doubles down on her idiotic statements on history. Her [Sarah Palin] staff, actually tried to get Wikipedia to rewrite history on Paul Revere’s ride to warn the patriots, not the British. Michele Bachmann is seen as part of lunatic fringe.
