Why is America so Color Struck?

"America is obsessed with race"
America is obsessed with race
The term color struck is used among African-Americans. It means “a strong obsession/fixation with color and race.” In offices and homes all over America the following conversation takes place, we are all color struck to some degree. This goes for both whites as well as blacks. We are all guilty of this; you know what I’m talking about. The race issue, two coworkers are discussing one of them meeting someone; liberal Republicans to this too! If one of them is black and the other is white, either one of them will describe the person that they met, or spoke to, or had fun with or went to happy hour with, as either black or white. We just can’t help describing people by race (color struck). Liberal Republicans as well as Conservatives do this. Let’s face it, we’re all color struck to one degree or another!

Republicans and Black America

Jack Kemp friend to African Americans
Jack Kemp was a friend to African Americans

Blacks have always been republicans. We forget that from the time of Lincoln up to FDR 90% of blacks were republicans; Oh how soon we forget. Today however, if you ask the average black person republican or democrat? You will get a resounding, “I’m a democrat!”

The black community has always gone with the party who was perceived to have their best interst at heart. When President Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation freeing millions of blacks held in bondage, blacks flocked to the republican party like lemmings.

Racism to blame for Midterm Losses

"Jim Moran accuses Americans of racism"
Jim Moran tells it like it is

Fox News is reporting on comments made by Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) following Tuesday’s State of the Union address.

The following story is testimony to the 800 pound gorilla called race that’s smack dab in the middle of our living rooms! It’s refreshing to see a white man just come out and say the truth. Race is and continues to be a central issue in all of our lives in the American experience. Anyone who doesn’t see that is living in a cave or under a rock!

Dave Bartholomew’s Racist email compares Blacks to dogs

The following is an excerpt from “The Root.” If you need more evidence how exclusionary the Republican party is, then you must be on another planet!

Virginia Beach is the biggest city in Virginia, and the hometown of the state’s current Republican Governor, Bob McDonnell. Now it’s also home to the latest example of a racist email forward destroying a prominent conservative’s political credibility and possibly career.

Black Quarterbacks and The NFL

Whether you’re the manager of a fast food chain, an auto dealer, CEO of a Fortune 500 company or the president of the United States, you have to be twice as good to be equal. As we get into the throes of the current NFL season you can’t help but wonder are black quarterbacks held to a higher standard. Arguably, black quarterbacks in the NFL make games more fun to watch!

The Military & African Americans

"U.S. Military has always had Black soldiers who sacrificed for America"Military and African Americans – The United States history of the military & African Americans is full of examples of the sacrifice made by African Americans. I find it amazing and absurd that the likes of someone like Sarah Palin questions if African-Americans are loyal citizens. Since the arrival of the first slave ship African-Americans were some of the first to give the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom and America.

Immigration and the Dream Act

Immigration activists who support the dream act suffered a crushing defeat in the Senate this past week. While it seemed like a good idea in the house; GOP Senators delivered a coup d’état. Several Republican senators successfully mounted a filibuster that killed the dream act. Dozens of young activists crowded the galleries above the Senate floor in support of the bill, many wearing college graduation mortar boards (not yet U.S. citizens) some held hands as senators cast their votes.

Will Tea Party and Conservatives Boycott Thor?

I wouldn’t be surprised if The Tea Party and Conservatives jump on this bandwagon. A US white supremacist group has called for a boycott of the Kenneth Branagh-directed superhero movie Thor on the grounds that a black actor has been cast in the role of a Norse God. The Council of Conservative Citizens is upset that London-bornIdris Elba, star of The Wire and BBC detective series Luther as well as a number of Hollywood films, is to play deity Heimdall in the Marvel Studios feature. The group, which opposes inter-racial marriage and gay rights, has set up a website, boycott-thor.comto set out its opposition to what it sees as an example of leftwing social engineering.

Sarah Palin’s Dangerous Race Game

In her new book, the former Alaska governor questions the patriotism of African Americans who point out the country’s imperfections.

As if a new reality show, Fox News commentaries and daughter Bristol’s Dancing With the Stars spin weren’t enough, Sarah Palin is back with another book: America by Heart: Reflections on Faith, Family and Flag, which was released on Tuesday. In it, the half-term governor and full-time Republican enigma shares her increasingly extremist worldview on everything from the legacy of JFK to her conflicted feelings about abortion to her commitment to giving up chocolate for a year.
